Overview LocationNorthside Lacrosse is a recreational club open to players in the 3rd through 8th grades. The club participates in the Indiana Youth Lacrosse Association's outdoor spring lacrosse season, and also supports both indoor and outdoor teams on an ad-hoc basis in the summer, fall, and winter. As of the 2011 spring season, North Central High School is the site of the home fields for all of the Northside Lacrosse teams. Some activities may also take place at Westlane Middle School. IYLA and Eligibility Northside is a member program of the Indiana Youth Lacrosse Association (IYLA), which sponsors inter-program play during the outdoor spring season. Northside's players for the spring season are drawn from an area on the north side of Indianapolis, defined by the boundaries of the Washington Township school district. Players living nearby who do not have a designated lacrosse program may also be eligible to play for Northside. History The club began with the formation of Washington Township Lacrosse; the first games were played in the spring of 2006. Two years later, the club combined forces with the St. Richard's School lacrosse program. Today, Northside Lacrosse includes approximately 125 kids in Grades 3-8, from all over the north side of Indianapolis and surrounding communities. Goals and Game Play Click this link for more information about goals for player development and game play at each grade level. | Cost The main outdoor season for lacrosse is in the spring, from late February through May. The cost for spring registration for 2012 is between $125 and $200 for full participation,depending on grade level. (Contact us for information about scholarship players.) Club fees cover practice facility fees, games, coaching, team supplies, and uniforms for the spring season. Each player must also have a U.S. Lacrosse membership, which costs $25 annually. Personal equipment, including helmet, mouth guard, cup, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, and stick, must be supplied by each player. Cost for this equipment varies greatly; used equipment is often available. There is typically a per-event cost for optional training and tournament play that takes place outside the spring season. ![]() |
